Rev. Daniel Poon
In Isaiah 44:2, it says “I am your Creator, you were in my care even before you were born”. We were not created by accident – God has a purpose in each one of our lives.
The world tells us to study hard, work hard, get a good job, earn lots of money, and enjoy life. So since we were little, we were taught to work for this world, to make choices that please the people in this world. We become insecure, and want to hold onto the things we can see, but we never satisfy.
“He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be the most important of all He created” James 1:18.
The truth is, we were not created to please this world, but the world was created for us to fulfil our life purpose. The only thing we need to do is to study the “operation manual” – the Bible. Everything created has a reason and explanation behind it. In Romans 12:3, it says “The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what He does for us.” Do we understand ourselves? Do we know the purpose of our lives from God? We need to find out about it from our Creator, so we will no longer spend our entire life to do what the world tells us to do, but to live everyday according to the purpose we were created.
