God First, People Second, then the Earth

Sunday, 23rd June 2019

Ps Kathy Poon

“Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint” (Proverbs 29:18)

In the Book of Genesis, it clearly tells us an important order and way of living – God first, people next then the Earth.

  • God first
  • People second
  • Then the Earth

When we follow this order, God will help us to make everything according to its right timing in their right places. God wants us to be looked after more than He wants the things to be done! Because it says in the Bible, that we are wonderfully and marvellously made.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

  • Church before People (Numbers 2:1-2, 15-18; Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • People before Work/Ministry (Matthew 6:33; Mark 1:28)
  • Family before Work

The Bible gives us many examples, where we should look after God’s family like our own. Furthermore, Ps Kathy reminded us that when we look at our family and other relationship more important than our work or ministry, then we will be blessed.

All are blessed
1. God blessed people with lives (Genesis 1:28-29; 2:8-9, 23-24)
2. God blessed all living creature with provisions (Genesis 1:30-31)
3. God rested with the blessing of rest (2:1-3)

When we have our orders right, then God will bless us abundantly. Even though it’s always a challenge as we tend to first see the things need to be done, then the people, and last God, but today we will learn to get the order right, then God will do His part to bless us!
