This is the end times, the darkness has covered the earth, we must walk with God. As Christians, can people see it in our lives? A lot of times, we told people we are followers of Christ, but there is no Christ in our lives, and people cannot see God in us.

Section One V1-6 To Really Know Jesus

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honour than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

We have a calling, not from ourselves and not from this world, but from the Heaven. We know our calling is from above, but our mind are often focusing on this world more than focusing on God. Do we really know Jesus? Does the authority and power of Jesus reveal in our daily lives? We are the holy people called by God, this is the identity God gave us, and this is how God sees us. Therefore we must always examine ourselves, do we rally live out the calling with God in our lives? Do we really live a life of holiness? We must always meditate on the Jesus we know. Do we really know Jesus as the High Priest and do we see His faithfulness? What is Jesus’ status in our lives? Do we put Him first or do we put others things before Him? Do we really know Jesus? This is a question we must always ask.

Moses was the servant of God, he was faithful in the House of God. But do we see Moses greater than Jesus? Jesus is not a servant but the Son of God, who rules over the House of God. Do we also know that as the children of God, we can take up the authority given by Jesus to manage the House of God. Too often we set our minds and hearts in this world, because we want to receive this world, instead of focusing on the Heavenly things. Furthermore, Jesus lives within us, He wants to live within us and to walk with us, but do we prepare ourselves to be a place for Jesus to live? We are always thinking about the things of this world, our work, our finance, our health, even our enjoyment and we put Jesus last in our list.

Jesus came for us to be restored to the identity as the children of God. When we have this identity, then we will have the authority, and when we take up this authority then we will not be covered by darkness in the end times. We must know we are the children of God, and we can take up the authority of God.

Section Two V7-11 To Know God’s Work 要晓得神的作为

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

So many years God has blessed us, protected us, provided for us, and helped us, do we see God’s great works in our lives? Even we can wake up in the morning is due to God’s great works, we are in the positions we are today is never because of how good we are, how hardworking we are, how talented we are, how wealthy we are, or how skilful we are, but it’s all because of God’s Work in us. God has prepared the perfect place for each one of us to be, but we must recognise God’s work, otherwise we will never enter the Promised Land God prepares for us.

God created the Garden of Eden for people to live together with Him, when men sinned, they were casted out of the Garden. But God wants to restore our relationship with Him, and therefore He has prepared a better place for us, but when we don’t recognise God’s Work, when we continue to be prideful and rebellious, then we can never enter the rest of God. God does not want the history to repeat itself, but the people continued to sin against God. God loves us, just like how He loved the Israelites, He wanted them to enter the Promised Land, but they chose to stay rebellious, they chose to grumble, and they chose not to see God’s Work in their lives. Let us walk with God, don’t repeat the mistakes of the Israelites.

Section Three V 12-19 Beware and Listen

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.” For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

When we don’t beware, then we will live an unhealthy life, there will be wicked thoughts coming out from us. When we really admit that we are not healthy, then through His Word, He can restore us. On the other hand, when we don’t want to face our lives, when we don’t admit that we are unhealthy, then we can never change. When we chose not to change our wicked ways, then we will be cast out at the end. Are we willing to listen to the teaching of our authority and are we willing to give teaching to others? Don’t give nametags to ourselves or to others, don’t give up on ourselves or others, but to exhort each other every day.

When people give us teaching and exhort us, do we have the heart of repentance? Or do we have the harden hearts and refuse to change our ways? Do we feel ashamed when people discipline us and give us teaching? It’s a blessing when others are willing to help us and to point out our transgression, do not be proud but be humble to receive. Then we can enter the rest of God, which He prepared for us.
