How to Overcome Problems

Sunday, 10th September 2017

Rev Daniel Poon

We’ve been talking a lot about Kingdom living, and we all know that we should live on earth as in heaven. But many non-Christians think we are dreaming because it sounds impossible. The truth is a lot of time when we see troubles or when we feel burdened, we run away. We want to live a ‘happy life’, but in the Bible, Jesus wanted us to learn from Him, which is to overcome problems in Jesus’ ways.

To Believe God Reigns

Psalm 29:10 – The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.

Even when the flood comes, do we still believe that God rules and reigns? The Israelite wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, but at the end they still needed to face the battles in Canaan. We need to see God’s mighty power, and He is looking for the people, who are willing to follow Him no matter what.

To Be An Intercessor

Ezekiel 22:30 – I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.

Everyone prayed for themselves but God is looking for an intercessor, someone who is willing to pray for others. Jesus came as a human, He gave up His throne and came to the earth as an intercessor for us.

Matthew 18:18-19 – Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.

God has already given us the way and the authority to pray for one another. We should activate this power and see what God can do for us as well as the people we pray for!

To Love Like Jesus

Matthew 11:29 – Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus is humble and gentle in heart and He finds rest in God, even through the storm. Jesus taught us to always look to God instead of searching answers from this world. We have all been given a purpose in this world and only when we seek God, receive His fresh anointing, then we can know what is our ‘cross’ that we should carry while living on this world.
