Rev Daniel Poon
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? (Romans 8:31-35)
Life is unexpected. A lot of things happen not in accordance to our plan, therefore we become fearful, worrying about things that might go wrong. Today Rev Daniel reminded us to cast out our fear and worries, because the Scriptures say, if God is for us, then who can be against us?
We are the sons and daughters of the Almighty God, and if we know, then we will not be fear because God is with us, He is for us, and we should not hand over our son-ship into this world. God will never put us to shame, He knows what’s best for us, He is our Abba Father. Furthermore, through us and our faith in God, others can also recognise how great our God is!
- Who can be against us? If we know God is with us, then we will hold on tight His promises for us, and will not easily be shaken.
- Who will bring any charge against us? When we choose God’s way, we know it’s the best way, and whatever other people say or do to us will no longer put us down, but to keep us stronger; God’s way is not necessary the short-cut, it’s a narrow way, but it’s also the blessed way.
- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Life is short and we should put our hope in the eternal life; in order to do that, we should never let anything separate us from God; we should not leave any gap or build any walls between us and God.
When we know that God is for us, we can live our life more freely in God’s will, no more fear and no more accusation, we can even love our enemies and those who prosecute us! Today, know that God us for us!
