Section One: V1-21 Not Supposed to Listen
Peace and healing are from God, given to us freely, but when we sin, we leave a gap in the spiritual realm then the devil will have an opportunity to attack us.
David’s eldest son Amnon loved his sister Tamar. From this, we can see that David’s family had a problem with lustful desires. David was also not loved when he was little and he did not bring the love of God into his family. He gave his children the love, which spoiled them instead of giving them God’s love.
When David, the father of the household, did not listen to the prophet but did whatever pleased him, then the devil came to attack his family. David listened to his son that when Amnon asked for his sister Tamar to attend him, David agreed. Amnon was the son of David’s first wife before he became king whereas Tamar and Absalom were born of a princess. David did not notice how very different his children were brought up and did not listen to the prophet’s warning in the previous chapter.
Amnon was a fool because he listened to his friend and followed his lustful desires because his father did not bring the real love of God into the family. This resulted in the tragedy of the family.
Tamar wanted to stay after her brother slept with her. We can see from here that she was also not living in the truth. Tamar should have brought this sin to her father, but she was confused and tried to cover the sins instead of letting them to light. When Amnon rejected her, she went to Absalom, her brother, instead of her authority.
Section Two: V22-36 Not Forgive
Absalom did not forget about this matter, he held hatred and unforgiveness toward Amnon for two years. He plotted to kill his own brother. As a father, David knew that Absalom invited Amnon but he did not stop him. In fact, when Absalom killed Amnon, all the other brothers ran away. We can see from here that David’s household did not have unity, everyone only thought about themselves.
When David heard that his sons were dead, he again didn’t do anything. He only lied on the floor until Jonadab came in to report the news. Jonadab was a wicked man, he was the one who suggested Amnon ask for his sister in the first place, and now he made the matter seemed small to David. Why Absalom committed this sin? Why would Jonadab know only Amnon died? Very likely he was part of the evil scheme.
Absalom did not bring his sister to David. He didn’t believe David will sort out the matter for them. He held unforgiveness for 2 years. He killed his brother then he ran away.
V37-39 Not Admiting the Mistake
Absalom ran away to the king of Geshur and hid there. He would rather stay in a foreign country than seeking help from his own people. Again David was sad that Absalom ran away, but again he didn’t do anything, he didn’t even go to look for Absalom. He let him run away and did not deal with this case.
The series of events that happened in David’s household created a big gap for the devil to come in. Nathan’s prophecy came true and led to the destruction of David’s family.
When we know the problem we need to let God’s love come into our household and protect our family. Through Christ, who gives us strength, we can block the gap. But we must bring the truth into our household, and let the light come to our family and our lives.
Prayer & Pursuit
Lord, let us wear Your Armour every day, not to stay in the lustful world, not to only think about our own sinful desires. Help us to block the gap in our lives, so we will know our mistakes, admit our mistakes, and bring the true light into our families. Amen.

如何走进灭亡
这一章是回应之前神对大卫与拔士巴所行之事的刑罚 – “我必从你家中兴起祸患攻击你。我必在你眼前把你的妃嫔赐给别人”（12:11）。我们很容易知错认错，但我们是否知道自己罪的后果，并因此警醒？虽然耶稣基督在十字架上赦免了我们的罪，但我们因着所犯的罪在灵界里有了一个破口，使自己容易在同一个地方跌倒。
一、不该听（v.1-21)
V1-2a 大卫的长子暗嫩爱自己同父异母的妹妹爱到生病，由此可以看出在大卫家庭里面一个“情欲”的问题，这个问题是从大卫从小缺乏爱开始的，恶根在大卫这里没有得到处理，就生出了恶果。大卫从小没有爱，虽然自己知道要爱神，却没有将这个真理好好教导家人，只用人的爱去满足他的孩子。
V2b 这一节后半句若反过来说，如果她玛不是处女，暗嫩是否就容易行事？由此可以看出大卫家里在情欲上的的问题和男女关系上的混乱，但因为大卫没有好好听先知之前对他家所发的预言，这些孩子成了牺牲品。
V3 “示米亚”是当初看不起大卫的哥哥之一，他的儿子“约拿达为人极其狡猾”，意思是他的行为是不对的。
V5-7 约拿达教唆暗嫩用欺骗父亲的手段来得到妹妹，暗嫩同意了。暗嫩跟大卫当初一样，看见女子好看就照着冲动去要，而大卫也没有去思考她玛与暗嫩的关系并不近，只是溺爱这个儿子，暗嫩要求什么他就照给了。
V12-14 t暗嫩本来不该听自己朋友约拿达下三流的建议，大卫本不该听暗嫩那不合理的要求，但在这里，她玛的话是有智慧的，暗嫩本该听从。暗嫩是大卫的长子，按理说应给是继承王位的，她玛在这里提醒他的身份，甚至说“你可以求王，他必不禁止我归你”的话来拖延时间。但是因为约拿达之前跟暗嫩说的话，暗嫩此刻就是一个“愚妄人”，不听该听的话，却听不该听的话，行了恶事。
V15 暗嫩跟父亲当初行淫之后让拔士巴离开一样，他负上这么多的代价得到的东西并不能满足自己心里的空虚，所以恨她玛的心“比先前爱她的心更甚”。
V16 她玛这句话的意思是她想要留下来跟着暗嫩，但这是不合律法的教导。她本该立刻回去将这样一个乱伦的罪报告大卫 – 根据律法，她玛若是被迫发生关系，她就是无罪的，然而当她玛跟暗嫩发生关系后，她放下了之前所相信的真理，愿意活在一个罪恶的混乱里面。当我们没有堵住我们的破口，没有将真理带入我们的家，这个罪会一直流传到我们的子孙后代。
V18-20 身为一个公主，她玛让自己的情绪爆发出来，跑到自己胞兄而不是父亲那里。这样的做法并没有给她玛带来任何帮助，因为她听了胞兄押沙龙的话。押沙龙说的没有任何真理，只有包庇。当我们在牧养、带领他人的时候，若发现问题却没有向我们的权柄汇报，这个问题会成为酵，至终不能帮助我们下面的人。
V21 大卫听见这事后除了生气，什么都没做。神给我们权柄，不是去溺爱包庇下面的人，而是忠心教训、导正他们。
二、不饶恕（v.22-36)
V22-23 押沙龙没有将这件事情拿出来处理，而是放在心里，不愿意饶恕。经过两年的时间，押沙龙的“恨恶”就因着不饶恕变成了凶杀。
V26 大卫明知道押沙龙和暗嫩之间有问题，但因为溺爱孩子，听了押沙龙的请求，就让暗嫩去赴押沙龙的宴请。
V29 这就是大卫的家：大哥被人杀了，所有其余的王子却逃跑。他们没有骑马，而是骡子 – 骡子其实跑得很慢，跟走路没什么区别。这些兄弟之间的感情看起来也不是很好。
V30 若这些王子跑得快，事情的“风声”就不会先于他们传到大卫那里。
V31 听到噩耗，大卫就哭了。他的反应就好像当初他与拔士巴的第一个儿子死去时一样，以为这样神会改变结局。他没有想着如何处理自己的问题，于是他的家人、臣仆都学着他的样子。
V32-33 其实约拿达知道所有的事情，他表面上是暗嫩的“朋友”，却告诉大卫不要把“只有暗嫩一个人死了”这件事放在心上！
V34 押沙龙一开始本该带着妹妹去见大卫，但因为他不相信大卫会处理长子暗嫩，他的不饶恕就逐渐长成了凶杀的恶果，最后在自己的不饶恕中选择逃跑。
V35 约拿达所讲的话似乎有道理，却让大卫活在混乱中。
三、不知错（v.37-39)
V37-38 基述是外邦国土，押沙龙跑到那边住了三年，宁愿让外邦人看自己家的笑话，也不肯回家。
V39 所谓的“安慰”，原文是指大卫觉得“可惜”。大卫也不舍得押沙龙，却没有到基述那边将押沙龙找回来。
这不该听、不饶恕、不知错成为了大卫家严重的破口，也让我们看见人是如何一步步走进灭亡的。 我们虽有永生得救的确据，却不要让生命的破口影响我们。求神帮助我们谦卑，看见我们生命的问题，选择刚强壮胆，将真理带回家。
*追求：
让我们每一天都穿戴神所赐的军装，不要贪恋世上的好处，求神帮助我们堵住生命中的破口，让我们不仅知错认错，也要将真理真光带入我们的家中。奉耶稣基督的名祷告，阿们！
