Is Faith Unseen?

Sunday, 24th September 2017

Dr Bakthakumar (Victory Tabernacle Church)

This morning, Dr Bakthakumar shared with us what is faith and what we can do with it. In Hebrews 11:1, it says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is a substance, which exists but is unseen, in Romans 10:17, it also says, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word about Christ.”

The Word is also the Spirit of God, therefore faith is a Spirit, which controls everything. Dr Bakthakumar shared that every visible natural thing in this world can be controlled by the unseen faith. What’s more important is that this faith has already been given to us by the Father. As it is said in Romans 12:3, Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”

God has given each one of us a measure of faith, believers or non-believers, this faith system is within us. If we use it with our own will and without the aid of God, then we may created horrible things that can wipe out the human race, such as the atomic bomb. On the other hand, if we use it according to the Word of God, then we have the ability to change the world we live in.

In Hebrew 11:6, it says “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.” God wants us to use this faith given to us, to receive His love and to love Him wholeheartedly. Because only by faith, we can see and feel God’s love for us. The truth is that God is deeply in love with us, but very often we do not know it.

Dr Bakthakumar reminded us the well-known John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  This verse is for you and for me to know everyday how God loves us so much, and this is the attitude of the Father.

I Timothy 6:17, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”

It tells us to put our hope in God, who gives us everything for our enjoyment, God loves to bless and provide for us, and He loves seeing us enjoying His gifts! In II Corinthians 7:6, it also says that He is the comforting God, when we are downcast, He is there to encourage us and make us better.

In conclusion, faith is already given to us, and it can be visible, as long as we start exercise it according God’s Word and we can see it more in our lives!
