Live in Eternity

Sunday, 13th March 2016

Rev Daniel Poon

The present is so important to us, but it’s so short and so unreliable. We don’t know how long we can live in this world therefore instead of looking at the present, we should focus more on the eternal life. We know from the Bible that the soul cannot die, and we will spend our eternity either in heaven or in hell.

In Hebrews 11:24-26, we see that Moses was the Prince of Egypt, who lived in a palace, but he decided to choose the way God wants him to go, which is to live in the wild. Moses breakthrough because he focused on his eternal reward in heaven. Rev Daniel reminded us that in order to breakthrough like Moses, we need to have commitment with God, starting from going to church, cell groups, doing offering etc.

Moses committed in God’s work. He knew he did not belong to Egypt even though he could have everything he wanted. A lot of time we need to make a decision, which the world tells us it’s not right. It’s up to us to choose God’s way to experience the miracles, or to choose this world.

God didn’t let Moses to go into the Promised Land, but he didn’t complain and he followed God’s instructions. Moses knew his mission and he knew what God wanted him to focus on. God knows what’s the best thing for us to do in the present time, therefore we need to be sure of our identity as children of God, be embraced in His protection and guidance.

In Hebrews 11:13-16, it tells us to look forward to the heavenly country, to change our focus and commit God’s plan in our lives. in Psalm 37:1-2, King David also told us to stand firm in our identity, don’t look at the current problem in the present time, but look at God’s bigger, better, eternal plan!
