Live in God’s Presence

Sunday, 10th April 2016

Rev. Daniel Poon

In the past few weeks, we have been talking about living in eternity, and one key point about living in eternity is to live in the presence of God. Because everyday we face many challenges, even people from the Bible, such as Moses, Elijah, David, Apostle Paul, and Jesus, they all faced many challenges. But when we face challenges, do we choose to live in God’s presence? Or do we try to sort our problems with our own strength and might?

God wants to build a relationship with us, and He promised us to never leave nor forsake you. We don’t need to fight for ourselves, instead, we should let God know how much we need Him, and believe that He will show us a way out. Therefore it is so important to have the presence of God in our church, our workplace, our school. our family and our lives. Rev Daniel shared with us three points to live in the presence of God.

  1. From WORSHIP – when we worship God, we draw His attention and bring His presence from Heaven to earth
  2. From OBEDIENCE – in 1 Samuel 15:22, God tells us that He likes an obedient heart more than sacrafices
  3. From SUBMISSION – from Romans 7:6, it tells us that submission is an attitude to commit in God’s calling

In John 1:14, it says “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” Jesus lives among us and wants to have fellowship with us. Everyday is a mission, so we need to prepare ourselves for the greater mission of God though worship, obedience, and submission.
