Rev Daniel Poon
How much time do we invest in praying and seeking God each day? Or we only seek God when things are not happening according to the way we expected? God wants us to live right every day and He’s always here to help us. Let God fight out battle, because a lot of time it’s not about being right or wrong, but about the focus.
In order to live right, to live in God’s way, we need to bring the focus to God. God wants us to feel love and joy but if our focus is wrong, if we put our own pleasures, money, success, etc before God, then nothing will turn out to be right and we will always complain.
Rev Daniel shared with us Psalm 37:5-11 today, “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.“
The most important thing we need to remember in order to live in God’s way, is to commit ourselves in the Lord, trust in Him, believe that whatever tasks He has set before us is for our own good. But if we don’t trust God then we will always worry, always complain, and always feel like giving up. Rev Daniel also reminded us don’t stop having fellowship, because through having fellowship, we can encourage one another to walk in God’s way.
We need to be still, do not fret and be patient. It’s easier to complain about God and about people, but it’s difficult to have faith. When we yet to see the end result, if we don’t have the patience to wait, then we will only see things negatively.
Therefore we should commit and wait, this is the lifestyle God wants us to live in, and eventually we will encounter God, see our life purposes in His eyes, and taste the fruits we bear through Him!
