Living the Victorious Life

Sunday, 6th May 2018

Rev Daniel Xi An Poon

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7)

God wants to give us a victories life. People tend to look at the past, to dwell in the past success and stay in the comfort zone. But today God is taking us into a new generation, to stretch us and to bless us. It doesn’t mean our past is not important, because the past reminded us how God has blessed us, and present is the ‘present’ from God, as we live the present in the godly way, He can take us to move forward into a victorious future!

Rev Daniel shared with us what we need to live a victorious life today.

Power in Prayer

Prayer helps us to be on fire for God. There’s supernatural power in prayers! When we pray we must pray loud to stir our spirit within us and to overcome fear.

Power in Action

Not only we need to pray but we also need to take action. There is power in the action of faith we take. God will open the door for us when we knock, but we don’t just knock, also need to enter! Just like how the Israelite need to step into Jordan River in order for it to be parted for them, and when we take the step of faith, God will make the impossible things become possible.

To Choose to let God’s Love Flow

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (I John 4:7)

Love is not a feeling, it’s a choice, and it’s not according to our will. God loved us first so that’s why we can love, true love should not be a burden because if we let God’s love overflow in us, then very naturally we can love.

To Choose to Give

We should not be scared to give, because in God there is no shortage. Everything we have is from God therefore when we give, we also give for God. It’s not up to us when to give and when not to give, but ask God what can I give for His kingdom? When we give we can see how God return to us for our faith.

To Guard Your Heart

“We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them.” (1 John 5:18)

We are always in a spiritual warfare, but we should not be afraid, because only how we respond to it determines if it’s a warfare for us or not. We can easily lose our love, peace and joy when undesired things happen to us. But Rev Daniel reminded us that God already told us He has prepared a feast in front of our enemy. He is on our side and we have the authority and ability to overcome everything. Therefore don’t give the authority to devil by partnership with it, don’t exchange our love and peace with fear and bitterness. Instead, worship God and He will turn all the problems into blessings.

To Resist the Devil

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

When we resist the devil, devil will flee from us. What is inside of us is bigger than this world, and we should not fear of the devil. In all situation, choose God first, give our freedom to God and He will open the door for us.

God can help us live a victorious life and He wants to help us, so don’t hide ourselves from God. Today we can make the choice and today is His present for us!
