Rev. Daniel Poon
Today is the Pentecost Day, and Rev. Daniel shared that God has asked him to share the message about Holy Spirit and its power. As it says in Matthew 3:11, “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
We should all be baptised by the Holy Spirit, because without it, our lives will never change, no matter how much we know about the Bible, or how many good deeds we have done in our lives. Holy Spirit gives us the wisdom to know the Will of God and the motivation to carry it out. Rev. Daniel reminded us our identity as children of God, through Christ, nothing is impossible, and we need to believe, proclaim and practice it. God created us as leaders of this world, He has already spoken to us in the Book of Genesis to manage the earth and subdue it.
Pentecost Day is very important to Christians as it reminds us the day when Holy Spirit came down from the Heave and came to the disciples of Jesus, from then on their lives changed. However, the story did not end there, Pentecost still happens today for you and me.
Holy Spirit is gentle and it will never force us to follow Him, but we need to recognize it when the Holy Spirit speaks to us. Our voice is often louder than the voice of the Holy Spirit, therefore we need to practice following God’s Will, listening to the small voice, and believing that everything is in God’s hands!
