Rev Daniel Poon
Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’” (Ezekiel 37:11-14)
This morning through the scriptures in Ezekiel, Rev Daniel shared with us how to fight back the negative things in our daily life. Every day many things would try to take our hopes down, keep us away from loving others. The world keeps on pushing us down, so we end up battling with our emotions instead of loving others, we would feel depressed and wanted to end our lives earlier. But it’s not finished. It may be a painful journey, God knows it too and that’s why He talked to Ezekiel.
It’s not about 1000 years ago but it’s about now. Maybe on the appearance we look ok but deep inside we are losing hope. Everything seems to be putting us down. Rev Daniel shared that we should not be looking at how strong our enemies are, but to look at how much God has done for us. Everything is possible through God.
God wants us to make a difference in this world, but we fall into the trend of this world. We should create the culture to influence the world and let people follow our God through us! Jesus didn’t follow the culture of the Jewish but He created the Jesus culture. People from everywhere follow Him. They forgot the time and just wanted to stay with Him.
But now every week we need to remind others to come to church, to come to cell group or the prayer meeting, but what happened to the Jesus culture 2000 years ago? God is waiting for us, His door is open for us.
1. MAKE US A WAY IN “NO WAY”
We are not nobody we are somebody. In our school work, family, try to put us off, make us feel we are nobody. When Samuel anointed David as the king of Israel, his father gathered all the sons except for David, in his father’s eye, David might be nobody, but in God’s eyes we are somebody.
People might look down on us, but we must look at why God put us where we are, He took us out from our homeland not to be slaves but to receive blessings and to influence to the world around us. We are the chosen ones!
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. (2 Corinthians 4:7)
God wants to release us from the impossible. Don’t try to stop what God is doing in our lives. Walk the God’s way, when we humble and ask God first, look at David, he always asked God first. The only time David forgot to ask God and he made a big mistake. Only one day he didn’t go to God and he lost. We come before God not because it’s our homework, but because God knows we are weak, the world tries to attack us every second, only when God is with us then He can be our shield.
We can’s live on this earth without God.
“Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” (John 11:21-22)
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)
We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:8-9)
God wants us to be different, to be excellent, in our health, our family, our finance, our workplace, and in our school. How can we do it? In God everything is possible if we believe.
2. SEND US THE SPIRIT OF REVIVAL
“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. (Acts 2:17)
We must believe that God will send us the revival. He will bring down the Spirit of revival and we will live a life full of His miracles. The Spirit of God will bring us victory. When His Spirit is within us, we will not die, we will not lose, we will be somebody and live out His destiny! When God’s Spirit is with us who can be against us?
No one can control others, but when people see God’s miracles with us, they will come to us. Because we create a new culture, we will see visions and the purposes of our lives. We are not here to wait to die, but we are here to dream! Dream for our future and our next generations.
3. LEAD US INTO OUR DESTINY
I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord. (Ezekiel 37:13-14)
God will do new things for His people, and if we can see God’s work in our lives, follow His Spirit, and He will lead us into the destiny He has created us for. Not only He wants us to experience His miracles, but He also wants to partnership with us, so we become part of the miracles and blessings for others.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance. (Psalm 16:6)
God has great things in store for us. The Spirit of God will be like fire coming inside of us, we will do great things for God, this fire will stimulate us, stir us up, to reach out for God! Today God has made us a way, put His Spirit in us, and lead us into destiny to fire for God!
