Psalm 117 – Jehovah Arise, Praise the Lord!

In Psalm 116:16, it says, ‘O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have loosed my bonds.’ What is a servant without bonds? Only God’s servants, because there is freedom in God, no one forces us to serve God, no one forces us to come to church, and no one forces us to believe in God. We must not be deceived by our own lies, the lies of the devil, because that’s the only thing the devil is doing, to lure us away from God. The Word of God has power, the Word of God can break all lies and truly set us free.
V1 ‘Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples!’ To laud is also to praise, it also means to be still. God is calling His beloved, the ones being called, to be still. When we are still, when we quiet down ourselves, stop living in the ‘doing’ mode, then we will let God arise. The world is full of darkness, but how can we arise and shine for God? Can we set ourselves apart for God?
V2 ‘For His merciful kindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!’ When we are holy, pure, and blameless, then the light of God will be reflected on us, then we can arise and shine for God, to light up all those who are in debt, in sickness, in depression, and in darkness. God has given us strength, He is our refuge, He is our shield, He is our stronghold, He loves us, and we can praise Him wholeheartedly.

在诗篇116:16这里讲到：“耶和华啊，我真是你的仆人；我是你的仆人，是你婢女的儿子，你已经解开我的绑索”。如何即是仆人又能被解开绑索？因为在神里面我们有真自由，没有人能够逼我们信主、来教会、或服事。若我们觉得有压力，那是出于撒旦对我们的欺骗，它总想让我们离开神。神的话语大有能力，能破除一切的谎言，释放我们得自由！
V1 “赞美”的原文也有发光的意思，“万民”就是属神的人。“颂赞”除了表示赞美，原文也指”安静”。列国如何发光？当我们能够安静、平静下来，不再处于一个分辨善恶树的doing模式下时，耶和华就能上升。跟从神本来是很轻省的，我们若是很辛苦，就是因为我们一直在跟自己的谎言、骄傲和不顺从打。我们花时间和精力在质疑教会和牧者的教导上，不愿意在教会的水流里谦卑顺服，就以为自己被宗教操控，因此会觉得很累、内心充满小剧场或者负罪感。我们若能安静，万国就能发光，列国也要来就我们的光 （以赛亚书60)，因为我们让耶和华在我们的生命中上升，我们反照出神的光给众人，他们就能发光了。
V2 在黑暗中，我们虽然看见天灾人祸，但我们仍能兴起发光。唯有当我们圣洁无瑕疵，神的光才会从我们这里发出，照耀那些被掳的、伤心、贫穷的人，“因为他向我们大施慈爱”- 耶和华赐给我们力量，他是我们的盾牌，我们还惧怕谁呢？“耶和华的诚实”原文指耶和华是坚固的，山虽动摇，地虽改变，神的爱永不改变。我们还能依靠谁呢？不要倚靠那些有权势的人或这个要灭亡的世界。主耶稣再来的日子快到了，我们都要悔改。
让我们在生命中降服于神、赞美他，完全成为神的光。求神祝福我们，使我们平安喜乐的跟从他，即使面对豪雨也能敬拜赞美神！
