Section One V1-2 Little Drama in the Heart
Everyone will have times of depression, but how can we come out from depression? In distressed and depressed times, we know God is still there, but it’s only a knowledge in our head. If our knowledge cannot be transformed and turned into actions, then it will always stay as knowledge. We must ask God to overturn our lives, to make all knowledge become actions and become our lifestyle. God is real and God is Great! It’s like how Jonah experienced the storm, the big fish then finally he humbled himself. David also had a little drama in his head, with the voices inside him, as he kept on asking God ‘how long?’
David had a dialogue with himself, asking and answering questions by himself, and that made him even more depressed. He said ‘How long will my enemy be exalted over me?’ David knew God was there but he allowed these negative voices to swallow him up. We must deal with the negative voices inside us, because if we don’t deal with them then they will become the cancer cells in our lives.
Section Two V3-4 Call Upon the Lord my God
David realised that God is his God, and he was able to pray to Him. What did David pray for? He was walking out of depression and asking God to watch over him. David knew he could not do this by himself, but as he surrender before God, God will bring in the light. Why do we feel depressed and distressed? Because the things we see with our eyes are waste, we tend to focus on the negative things in life and that keeps us in the dark. David said, ‘Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; enlighten my eyes’ because he knew he must be filled with the Word of God. He knew he could not fall asleep and he could not stay in the dark.
David cries out to God, asked for his eyes to be enlightened and not become enslaved by the darkness. We must stop listening to the negative voices inside us, but follow the Holy Spirit.
Section Three V5-6 Trust in the Lord Completely
‘But I have trusted in Your mercy’, David knew he had to come close to God. Why do we run away from God and from our authority? Because we don’t believe God loves us and we don’t believe our authority loves us. Why do we have depression? Because we are lack of love, we are weak and we forget God already told us no matter where we go, He will be with us. God is our God, He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and by faith we become the decedents of Abraham. Therefore we also receive the promises and blessings of Abraham from God.
Psalm 42:5 says, ‘Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.’ It’s our hearts we must deal with, let God’s Word fill us and believe He will surely deliver us! Let our heart rejoice in Gods salvation, to enjoy coming to the Morning Devotion, to praise God and to receive the Word of God. When we transfer our faith into action, to sing to the Lord, and He will deal bountifully with us!

Prayer & Pursuit
Lord, we can fully trust in You, You are our God and You rule and reign in our lives, we are determined to praise You in the darkness. Lord, shine Your light upon us, so we can see Your salvation, Your love and Your grace. We no longer focus on the storms of the world, but see Your help is already here! Let our faith be firmly rooted in You. Let us receive Your living water, let our love for You never dries out. Bless us oh Lord, to fully trust in You. From knowing to trusting, because only You are our Rock, our Shield, and our Fortress. Only You can lead us into this path of Grace, generation by generation. Amen.
