Section One V1-6 Pray to God, Seek Help

David faced criticism and he chose to pray. There are a lot of attacks around us and David chose to rely on God. He’s willing to surrender before God. David admitted he had fear, he was willing to come before God and revealed his fear. He didn’t need to pretend, but showed himself completely before God. God created our feelings and being, we need to be true to God completely. David found his true feelings and showed them before God. We should learn from David, not to rely on people to deal with our emotions but to give all to God.

David was willing to seek help from God, gave all his emotions to God, admitted his fears, and let God be his judge, not himself be his own judge. When we are hurt, or feel angry or fear, are we willing to let go of all these and let God? Not only to be willing to let God but also to believe God will vindicate. When we let God take over then we should believe God will stand on our side, and we no longer need to strive to fight for ourselves.

Section Two V7-17 Pray to God, Declare His Authority

Not only God is a righteous God, but He is also the Judge. When we pray and seek God’s help, do we really believe in God and examine ourselves? It will not always be someone else’s mistakes. When we seek help, do we also look into our lives? David’s emotions were stirred but he also looked at his own lives and examine to see his own mistakes. When we are willing to admit our mistakes, repent and return to God, fully surrender to Him, and bow down before Him, His authority will take over. Ask God to forgive our sins as we’ve forgiven others.

David declared that God is his shield, which stopped all weapons and arrows from the enemies. If we don’t use the shield then it will have no use, but when we hold up the shield then we can use it to shield the enemy’s weapons. We need to hold up the shield, which is the hands of prayers, everyday we must hold up the hands of prayers, don’t give up and pray continuously. David was a prayer warrior, so when he prayed, he held onto the shield the fiery arrows will not come to him.

Give all our fears, emotions, bitterness to God, believe in His authority, and that He will save!

Prayer & Pursuit

Lord, help us to live purely, to become the righteous in heart, and to fully rely on You. Lord You are our shield and our salvation. Let us up hold our hands or prayers, and to fully surrender to You, You will fight for us. Amen.
