Rev Daniel Xi An Poon
Waiting is just a process. A lot of people cannot wait, but today Rev Daniel remind us that God’s timing is the best timing when the right time comes victory will come to us.
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For, “In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay.” And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” (Hebrews 10:35-38)
Waiting is not easy but God uses this time to prepare us to receive victory therefore we need to be patient. We often want to see the result but we don’t enjoy waiting.
1. Remove the Barriers of Your Heart
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.” (Hebrews 10:35)
Our heart always stops all the plan God has to bless us. Don’t be a pot plant, but be a tree, because when storm comes a tree will not be moved, so what are the things that shake our confidence?
a. Barrier of Discouragement
Jesus had 12 disciples, both Judah and Peter failed Jesus, but Judah chose to kill himself and Peter chose to repent and changed the world. Do we want to be like Judah or Peter?
b. Barrier of Tiredness
we are all human being, even the great prophet Elijah was tired of doing God’s will and he wanted to die. He hid in the cave…
“There he went into a cave and spent the night. And the word of the Lord came to him: “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:9)
When we are tired, we tend to feel that we cannot do a lot of things. We need to believe that God cares about all the things we care for, so if we fix our eyes on Him, He will take care of all the things we worry about. God is our creator, don’t let tiredness control us!
2. Depend on the Promises of God
People always try to do funny things and not wait on God. How many years David waited for to be crowned king of Israel? 13 years! He never challenges God because he trusted in God’s promises, he continued to do the things God has given to him to do, to walk in God’s promises. We need to know God’s promises for us and hold onto it, proclaim it and believe in it. When God moves, we move, when God stops we stop.
3. Proclaim the Word of God
Only the Word of God is something we can rely on. When our faith is shaken we should remember and proclaim the Word of God. The Bible is for us to live on this earth, like a GPS to guide us how to live according to God’s will for us. Everyday we need the word of God, it’s the treasure inside the Bible, so let us press on, don’t give up, because victory is not far away!
