Renew and Emerge Part II

Sunday, 13th January 2019

Ps Kathy Poon

“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” (2 Corinthians 3:18)

When we first believed in Jesus, we are like the caterpillars, keep on eating the bread of life, growing, then eating and growing… but eventually, our Spiritual life will enter into a stage, which we need to emerge, like the caterpillar does, to become a butterfly. It’s a critical stage, we need to know that we should emerge in 2019, because this is a year to prepare us into the great harvest in 2020. So how can we prepare ourselves to become the right vessels to enter God’s glory? How do we emerge? First we need to see.

  1. TO SEE

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7) The caterpillar knows that there is the DNA of the butterfly within them, it knows that it can emerge into a butterfly, not a moth. In the same way, we need to see our life is colorful, not black and white; to see that “I have”. What do I have? I have the treasure, Jesus Christ Himself, in the jar of clay, which is us.

“On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” (John 14:20) We have the Holy Spirit and power within us. When we pray, God will turn our lack into abundance, Ps Kathy reminds us that we need to get rid of the mind-set of “I don’t have”. Because we have and God will give us more.

1. I have the Holy Spirit and Power within me

“Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.” (Matthew 13:12)

2.What I will Become

A – Dead raised to Life

  • Death comes to Life
  • Hope comes alive
  • Dream comes alive
  • Love comes alive
  • Relationship comes alive

B – Healed woman with issue of blood

  • Closing the holes in life
  • Closing the holes in finance
  • Turn curses into blessings

C – Blind can see

To have our Spiritual eyes opened, to see the principles of Heaven come to earth, just like what the Lord’s Prayer say, Your Kingdom come.

D – Mute can talk
To open our month and proclaim the Gospel of Kingdom

  1. Heart of God

We need to see the heart of God, Jesus went through all the towns and villages teaching, healing, and proclaiming the Good News of the Kingdom. So what is the heart of God? Why do we need to renew and emerge? Because God is leading us to fulfil the Great Commission.

God has a purpose in our lives, for us to become the people of influence on the seven mountains:

  • Arts & Entertainment
  • Business
  • Church
  • Distribution & Media
  • Education
  • Family
  • Government

The ultimate goal as Christian is to be more like Jesus, to believe in Christ is not just about having peace in ourselves, but to shine our lives for God.

II TO GO INTO THE SECRET PLACE

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1)

“Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.” (Proverbs 18:12)

Before we gain the glory, we need to be hidden underneath His shadow. He is going to teach us humility comes before honour. In the Bible, people who have been greatly used by God all had their secret place. Examples including:

  • Elijah’s Kerith Ravine
  • Abraham’s Mount Moriah
  • Joseph’s Potiphar’s House
  • MosesWilderness
  • David’s Cave of Adullam
  • Paul’s Roman Prison
  • Jesus’ Carpenter Family

It’s not an easy process, and some of them has sacrifice greatly – Moses was in the hiding for us to 40 years, and Elijiah had to be broken so much in his living condition in Kerith Ravine. The secret place reveals our true spiritual life. Through challenges of this process, our old-self will be broken and rid of, and only in the secrete place, the truth of life will be revealed

Pastor Kathy shared to story of Pastor John Mulinde’s involvement in revival at Uganda. 20 years ago, there were lots of wars every day in Uganda, 34% of the people there were diagnosed with aids, there were only a very small percentage of Christians. However 20 years later, today, Uganda has turned around and held the 2nd place of Africa’s economy. There are 90% Christians in this country, and all the aids were healed miraculously. Even after the president became a Christian, he made a covenant with God to devote Uganda to God for 1,000 years! They knew God’s will, which is to bless and not to curse, so they pray for their country very heard, to build a prayer alter for their country.

Pastor John Mulinde said, “Transformation begins with the hunger of the living water from Jesus Christ. In order for you to face chaos and needs at the end time, you need to build your personal prayer altar.”

Christian’s prayer life should not always revolve around solving our life problems, often when problem solved , we no longer pray, we fall into comfortlism and lay back. Instead, Christian’s prayer should focus on the purpose of God!

Being Christian is not about having a good life, but our prayer should be focus on the purpose of God.

“Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment… According to your faith let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:22, 29)

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrew11:6)

“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” (John 7:38)

In 2019 we need to emerge, and today Pastor Kathy has taught us how we can emerge?

  1. TO SEE
  2. I have the Holy Spirit and Power within me

2.What I will Become

  1. Heart of God
