Restore the Identity – Coming Home

Sunday, 11th October 2015

Pastor Kathy Poon

“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (Romans 8:14-15)

“The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba Father.”” (Romans 8:14-15)

A lots of Christians still think that we need to work our way up to receive the Sonship by doing more of God’s work, study more Bible, or get more people saved. This is the spirit of slavery or spirit of orphan we talk about.

In Matthew 22:37-40, the Great Commandment tells us to love God and love others, which is a call to intimacy. In Matthew 28:19-20, the Great Commission tells us to go and make disciples, which is a call to fruitfulness. Intimacy is to precede fruitfulness, so before we bear fruits, we need to know God’s love.

So what is the key to know God’s love?

Agape. A love that seeks the low place of humbling, serve each other, honor & value each other. The Great commandment is to be fulfilled before the Great Commission. Intimacy must precede fruitfulness. The Orphan Thinking is a “Shortcut Spirit”. We think that our way will take us to where we want to go more quickly than being subject to our Abba Father.

Where the orphan heart is so strong, you will find genuine trust & intimacy are very hard to develop and maintain in a relationship.

Finding our Way Home

1) Forgive your parents , spiritual & governmental authorities for Misrepresenting Father’s Love to you

2) Ask your parents or those in authority to forgive you for the way you hurt or disappointed them

3) Focus your life upon being a son or daughter

a. Honor our mother & father – Eph 6:1-3 – promised long life

b. Husbands honor their wives -1Pet 3:7 – promised prayer answered

c. Honor those in authority & everyone you come across – 1Pet 2:17-20 – promised the favor from God.

4) Daily renounce ungodly beliefs and hidden lies of Orphan Thinking.

5) Begin sowing into your inheritance

a. You need to recognize the power of sowing into God’s Kingdom

b. Seek to bless those who have blessed you

Then:

Entering Into Your Inheritance. The Father of Creation leads you home into a place of forgiveness, affirmation, love and rest!
