Soar on the Wings like an Eagle

Sunday, 7th October 2018

Rev Daniel Xi An Poon

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31)

Only our Creator God gives us the ability to soar on high like an eagle, but the  question is, are we willing to step out from our comfort zone and follow God’s voice? Firstly, we need to have a great expectations for God. Don’t be like chickens because they always put their eyes on the ground whereas an eagle keep its eye on the sky.

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” Corinthians 4:7-9

When we hit the wall it’s easy for us to just turn around and give up. Jesus walked in His Father’s journey until the very end, because He knew the Will of the Father. 33 years of His life He continued to move forward despite of all the opposition. He continue to walk on the faith. Whatever happens in our life God is always with us.

In the Bible, God taught us to give tithe and take a step forward in our finance. It is hard for us to give up our 10% and give it to God. We must rely on God, and when we do, His supernatural power will invade in our situation.

Secondly, we need to rely on the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand what God is trying to tell us. Have faith to go forward as it says in Matthew 17:20, “He replied, Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” We must chose our priorities in life.

We must trust on God, and He will let us to soar on high like an eagle.
