The Power of Words

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

God is able and is capable of doing anything. As it says in Ephesians 3:20, the things He can do is beyond our imagination, and all we have to do is “ask”. The kingdom of God is within us, and as children of God, we should exercise the power of words.

Pastor Bruce shared with us that God is not a God, who does everything FOR us, but He is a God, who wants to do things WITH us. He wants to be part of us and to be involved in everything we do. Today, He is inviting us to ask Him.

So how do we ask God? Firstly, we should start from believing what can happen, rather than what already happened. When did we last ask, “God, I want this,” and believe that He will make it happen?

In Genesis 1:3, it notes, “And God said, Let there be light, and there was light”.

In the Hebrew translation, it actually means that God gave the light the permission to be there. God did not create the light at that time. Light already existed, but God just gave the permission for it to be there at that time.

Pastor Bruce reminded us that God talks about what can be not what it is.

Roman: 4:17

 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
