Rev. Daniel Poon
All mankind are looking for an abundant life. Today, Rev. Daniel shared with us the secret to live a life abundantly.
“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.” (Ezekiel 36:25-30)
1. To Restore the Holy
We are all sinners and when we know that we will no longer fight with others. Because when we fight back, we are saying that we are right, but when we agree that we are not perfect, fighting back becomes not so important any more. It says in Ezekiel 36:25 that only God can make us holy. Only the water He sprinkles to us can make us clean and only Jesus’ blood can cleanse us. Therefore we need to always carry Jesus with us, then we can come to the Father, restore our relationship with Him, and live with Him in Heaven!
2. To Restore the Soft and Humble Heart
When we start to listen to jokes but have no emotions, or to hear something sad but feel nothing, we may need to examine ourselves – has our heart become stubborn? God creates our hearts to be sensitive. But when we lose that sensitivity, we begin to think that we don’t need God, and we can no longer hear God’s voice. In Ezekiel 36:26, God wants us to have a heart of flesh. We cannot have the heart of stone and the heart of flesh at the same time – if you have 2 hearts, you will be too hard!
“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)
When we restore our holiness and a heart of flesh, we will begin to hear God. He will guide our path and our every step to keep us safe! When God is with us, who can be against us? So why are we worrying? God is with us and He can provide everything we need. God is good. He always knows what we need and what we desire. Even when we put on a mask and people cannot see what we really want, God knows.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10)
This world tries to stress us out, and make us feel tired trying to fight for ourselves. But God is providing an abundant life for us. When we enter the Promised Land, we will see what God’s provided. So believe that today, we are entering the Promised Land, there might still be trails and troubles, but we need to stand firm in the Word of God. Then we can continue in living an abundant life.
