Rev Daniel Xi An Poon
We are all fighting together against the COVID-19 virus. Most of us are staying at home, not knowing what will happen next. The end of men is the beginning of God, what does God want to tell us during this time of crisis?
1. To know that God still rules and reigns
Everything is still in God’s hands. We need to trust Him even when the world tells us there is no hope.
You, O God, sent a plentiful rain, whereby You confirmed Your inheritance, when it was weary. (Psalm 68:9)
2. To build a prayer alter
This is the time we need to pray more and be alert, not just stay home and wait for the problems to go away. We need to spend time to pray at home, with your family, friends and with the church, to build a prayer alter. We should put ourselves on the alter, and God will give us the focus on what we should pray about. Instead of worrying and struggling, we should come to God and seek peace and direction from Him.
3. To proclaim our hope is in God
Faith is to set ourselves apart from this world, therefore when we are willing to give up on our own selfish desires, trust in the Lord, then we will be able to love and to have hope. God loves us and wants to give us the best. He would discipline us and speak the truth to us that we may not like.
We need to save our treasures in heaven. During this lockdown, we should meditate and think what fruits are we bearing? God has a purpose for each one of us during this time so we should pray and seek Him for direction.
