Rev Daniel Xi An Poon
Due to COVID-19, some of us started to use online service, but we still have a hunger heart to seek God. The whole world is being affected by this virus, there were also the locusts crisis in Africa and bush fires in Australia… however, God has already told us that these things would happened.
When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. (2 Chronicles 7:13-16)
Our church began to have morning devotions and prayers every day, to listen to God’s voice and ask what He wants us to do. During this time of troubles, we have to be more alert and follow God’s guidance.
How to turn danger into safety?
1. Humble Ourselves – to give up all we have and follow God wholeheartedly. When David’s son was sick, King David prayed every day, he didn’t eat and he didn’t sleep, until God gave him an answer.
2. Pray – not just to read out the prayers someone else has already written, but to pray from our heart and our souls, cry out to Him, and have the hunger and thirst for Him.
3. Seek God’s Face – to give all the burdens to God and be filled with the Holy Spirit; worship Him with spirit and truth.
4. Turn from Wicked Ways – only God is the leader of this world, the gold and silver should return to the temple of God, not to serve this world, save our treasure in heaven.
