Walk with God

Sunday, 28th April 2019

Ps Kit Ho

1. The Emotion of Fear in the Lord

In Psalm 23, David said, “The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” In the old times, Jewish people fear God to an extend that they cannot speak of God’s Name, and used ‘the Lord’ when they call out to Him. But now we are blessed with an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and can call out ‘Abba Father’ to Him.

Fear the Lord does not mean that God is scary, but to respect, to know God’s heart and to follow His way for us. We should know that everything happens to us is not by accident, not because we are ‘lucky’ or unlucky’ but by God’s plan for us. When we are serious about God’s plans for us, he will also be serious about leading and guiding us through the right path.

2. The Emotion of Intimacy with God

“Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away?” (Jeremiah 23:23)

God fills the heaven and earth, yet He is also within us. He is ‘our’ Shepard, and is able to have intimacy with us. God knows our every thought, even the ones we don’t even notice; He knows our past, present and future. We are the ones, who don’t let others see inside of us, because we fear that people might not like us when they see the inside of us.

God accepts us wholeheartedly, He knows us and wants us to open up to Him – He wants our true self! His intention for us is good, and that’s why He sends His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

Come walk with God today, He is waiting!
