“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.” (Deuteronomy 8:3b)
Jesus answered to the devil’s temptation that man does not live on bread alone. He knew the truth that the Word of God is what we seek. We shall not worry about our living or how much money we make, because our future is in God’s hands. Jesus was tired and hungry but He chose the Word of God. The world is coming to an end, we must chose the only way of life, the eternity.
God promised us and sent Jesus to come and talk about eternal life – do we choose the Heaven or Hell? Bread can fulfill our physical needs, but the Word of God fulfills our Spirit. What does the Bible tell us about the Word?
“For the word of God is alive and active.” (Hebrews 4:12) – He is the yesterday, today and forever God, His Word is alive and is active right now.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105) – God’s Word gives us directions, only God knows about our tomorrow, and His Way is the blessed way! God has opened the new doors for us but can we see it?
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28) – when we follow God’s Word and we will surely be blessed!
